Since 1885 St. Joseph’s has been providing healthcare to Chippewa Falls and the surrounding communities. In 1970, a larger facility was erected and underwent many updates. A 150-bed hospital, this facility is affiliated with the Hospital Sisters Health System HSHS based in Springfield, Illinois. The HSHS health system operates 13 hospitals in Wisconsin and Illinois.

In August of 2009, ground breaking occurred for a new state-of-the-art Emergency Department at St. Joseph’s. The new Level III Trauma Center was fully completed in January 2011. Infinity HealthCare has partnered with St. Joseph’s Hospital for the provision of Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, and Wound Care and HBO services. Other facts about this facility include:
